Omonoia Nicosia (Athletic Club Omonoia), founded on June 4, 1948, is one of the most successful and wildly popular clubs in Cypriot football history. Born out of the political fractures of the Greek Civil War, the club was created by players and organizers who split from APOEL, adopting green and white colors along with a shamrock emblem to represent hope, joy, and unity. Known as the "Shamrock", Omonoia has amassed a towering domestic trophy cabinet, including 22 Cypriot Championships, 16 Cypriot Cups, and a record 17 Super Cups. Their historic golden eras include winning six consecutive league titles between 1973 and 1979, fueled by legendary European Golden Shoe winner Sotiris Kaiafas. In the modern era, the club has established itself firmly on the continental stage, making regular group stage and league phase appearances in both the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Conference League.
