Moderators VyKing Posted April 23, 2022 Moderators Posted April 23, 2022 Well... Plenty more rich people in the sea. 1
Administrators Derek Posted April 23, 2022 Author Administrators Posted April 23, 2022 He was a cheap skate at £5m anyway 1
Moderators VyKing Posted April 24, 2022 Moderators Posted April 24, 2022 This is going to be harder than I thought. Had to rejig the finances as was paying 15k over the wage budget for the season. I'm now under the budget by 3k and only have 1 recognised LB. Champions League anyone? 3
Administrators Derek Posted April 24, 2022 Author Administrators Posted April 24, 2022 Hopefully a few interviews might come your way
Moderators VyKing Posted April 24, 2022 Moderators Posted April 24, 2022 So my Champions League journey begins with a trip to Glasgow 2
Moderators Markitos Posted April 24, 2022 Moderators Posted April 24, 2022 @VyKingany transfers in or out?
Moderators VyKing Posted April 24, 2022 Moderators Posted April 24, 2022 (edited) Apart from the one's you've brought in, sold one so far. I'm only getting 35% transfer income Out In Lihadji To help with depth and development potential Softley The same with Softley Vallier Because of wage restraints and the fact we don't have a recognised LB Vallier is brought in to cover Edited April 24, 2022 by VyKing 1
Administrators Derek Posted April 24, 2022 Author Administrators Posted April 24, 2022 Tough CL draw to start off with. I think we need the CL money
Moderators VyKing Posted April 24, 2022 Moderators Posted April 24, 2022 Celtic vs VAFC Third Qualifying Round 1st Leg The first half was a hard fought half, it had me believing we'd take home a draw. But Celtic where too much for us in the 2nd half. That being said the 2nd leg is on home turf and hopefully we can look at taking the game too them. 1
Moderators VyKing Posted April 24, 2022 Moderators Posted April 24, 2022 VAFC vs Celtic Champions League 3rd Qualifying round 2nd leg 3-1 (agg 3-3) (5-4 penalties) What a team, what a win. I had every bit of faith that at home we could turn the 2-0 deficit around withing 2 minutes of kick-off Lihadji rounding the keeper. Celtic equalised pretty much straight away, but the team didn't lack self belief and bombarded the Celtic goal. Onto the next round 1 2
Moderators VyKing Posted April 24, 2022 Moderators Posted April 24, 2022 Next up we have Dinamo Kyiv Win this and we should be in the draw for the Group stages 1
Moderators VyKing Posted April 24, 2022 Moderators Posted April 24, 2022 VAFC vs Dynamo Kyic Champions League Playoff 1st Leg Not a bad result not a great result. Pretty concerning the yellow cards given out too but the pattern I am noticing is the tactic i'm using is very possession based. We need to be getting more shots off and on target though. Hopefully this improves for the 2nd leg on a cold night in Kyiv. 1
Administrators Derek Posted April 24, 2022 Author Administrators Posted April 24, 2022 Brilliant win against Celtic mate. Tough second leg ahead vs Dynamo.
Moderators Markitos Posted April 25, 2022 Moderators Posted April 25, 2022 You sold the best player and scorer, sent the best defender on loan
Moderators VyKing Posted April 25, 2022 Moderators Posted April 25, 2022 53 minutes ago, Markitos said: You sold the best player and scorer, sent the best defender on loan I was left with a wage bill of -15k which needed to be rectified to stay sustainable so I had to do what I could and he was the only player bringing in any attention. Second leg of the Champions League playoff ended in a 2-1 defeat so the Champions League is out of reach but we are straight into the group stages of the Europa League, Thursday night football around Europe isn't so bad. I will provide a full update tomorrow. 2
Moderators VyKing Posted April 25, 2022 Moderators Posted April 25, 2022 We've hit a bit of a dip. The transfer window is now in the Joker period, I managed to persuade the board to sign a left back in the name of Bertol Franjic for 2.4 mill and they offered him the contract (the 2.4mill will have been taken from the CL money made for reaching the play offs and the monies made from making the Europa League group stage) Talking of the Europa League, we now know where our Thursday nights are going to be spent. And just a quick glance at the clubs finances. The League form started off well but hit a rough patch with RC Lens beating us in a close game 2-1 to go top of the league. Sorry PSG won their game in hand and resumed top of the league 2 1
Moderators VyKing Posted April 27, 2022 Moderators Posted April 27, 2022 November Update We have a new chairman in, who isn't investing in the team but paid 23mill for the club We are struggling big time in the league But we are competing in our Europa group after a nice win over Bilbao We currently have 2 job offers on the board OGC Nice and Lyon. I'm edging towards Lyon but I'm waiting to see who you guys decide so I've saved the game there. 2
Moderators Tempelman Posted April 28, 2022 Moderators Posted April 28, 2022 Both are good teams, personally I would choose Nice though... Cannot explain why, I think they are both equal in terms of quality and possibly (?) finances. I think Nice has got quite a lot of young talent as well... Leaving the sinking ship? 1
Moderators VyKing Posted April 28, 2022 Moderators Posted April 28, 2022 Its impossible to over achieve every season, it starts catching up with you unless you can make improvements across the board which unfortunately I wasn't due to wage constraints. I agree about NICE could be a nice little project 1
Moderators Tempelman Posted April 28, 2022 Moderators Posted April 28, 2022 Yeah, I actually felt the same when continueing my game, Bordeaux saved my career, although I was saddened to leave VAFC honestly!
Moderators Shark Posted April 28, 2022 Moderators Posted April 28, 2022 As French, I will give my opinion. IRL Lyon owner Jean-Michel Aulas is annoying. I don't like him. Always giving his opinion on every subject. Especially when it doesn't concern himself or his team. Historically speaking, Lyon are the best : 7 Ligue 1 (all in the 2000s) vs 4 for OGC Nice (all in the 1950s) Concerning youth development, Lyon is a known name with big players like Benzema, Lloris, Lacazette, Martial, ... In both clubs you will have a "new" stadium : Lyon since 2016 and Nice since 2013. In FM I managed both clubs in the past 3-4 years and enjoyed both games. 3
Administrators Derek Posted April 28, 2022 Author Administrators Posted April 28, 2022 I've always thought Aulas was trying to dictate to the rest of French football. He seems a bit quieter in recent years for obvious reasons. 1
Moderators VyKing Posted April 28, 2022 Moderators Posted April 28, 2022 I took the NICE job who doesn't want a team consisting of Matt Ryan and Lacazette 1
