FMG Graphics Database

List of items in development.

  • 1. Bulk Upload

    • Implement a bulk submission system allowing members to upload multiple graphics at once, with automatic filename recognition, entity matching, validation, a preview before submission, batch status settings, and optional notes. This requires a new upload workflow and careful integration with the existing submission and approval system.

  • 2. My Submissions / Upload History

    • Add a submission history page where members can track their uploads, including approval status, rejection reasons, notifications, search filters, and submission statistics on their profiles. This would also include improvements to the ModCP, giving staff a more comprehensive overview of submissions, moderation history, reviewers, and date-based filtering.

  • 3. List of Children / Hierarchy

    • Expand the existing relationships between entities to provide a more complete hierarchy, from FIFA and confederations down to nations, competitions, and clubs. This includes competition levels, sorting, related entity listings, and displaying the appropriate logos. Some relationships already exist, which should help reduce the amount of development required.

  • 4. Search Filters

    • Extend the existing search functionality with additional filters based on the information available for each entity type, such as nation, competition, gender, and other relevant fields. The implementation will also need to account for database performance, particularly with large numbers of records.

an option for reversal/rollback as well, please, or alternatively a flag option for removal/deletion after the fact.

these two for instance were never used for the men’s national football team or federation (historical logos) - first one is the full coat of arms of the country, the second one is a homebrew/unofficial stylized variant:

i had also inadvertently rushed forward and failed to upload the north borneo flag under the correct category initially, i.e. the first two instances are labeled »official logo«. i didn’t have an option to revert after i noticed.

on another note, could you check if display/preview for svg files can be activated? it worked in the logo update thread, but not in the graphics db. for the time being, i have reverted to png, but svg would provide better editing and resizing options for you, whenever a logo is available in that format.

The Bulk Upload system is now live.

When selecting the Graphics Database you will now see the 'Bulk Upload' option available.

Then you will need to select the logo type you wish to upload. Make sure not to upload your logos in the wrong category. Then simply upload the logos you have prepared.

Screenshot-2026-10-22-at-17-51-59.png

You will then need to select Game Ready or Unprepared. Once you do that, you will see a preview screen like below.

Screenshot-2026-10-22-at-17-48-44.png

Then simply submit your logos for approval. PLEASE READ THE BELOW INSTRUCTIONS - FILE NAMING IS ESSENTIAL.

How to use Bulk Upload
  1. Open Graphics Database and click Bulk Upload.

  2. Choose the entity type.

  3. Upload multiple image files at once.

  4. The system will read each filename and try to match it automatically to the correct record.

Filename rules

Use the FM ID at the start of the filename:

  • ID.png = Official

  • IDalt.png or IDalt1.png = Alternative

  • IDretro.png = Historical / Retro

  • IDfantasy.png = Concept / Fantasy

Examples:

  • 600.png

  • 600alt.png

  • 600alt1.png

  • 600retro.png

  • 600fantasy.png

  1. After uploading, the system will show a preview screen with:

    • the image

    • the matched entity

    • the detected graphic type

    • the validation result

  2. Review the preview.

    • If a file is marked Valid, it is ready to be submitted.

    • If there is a problem, it will be shown in the Result column.

  3. Choose the submission status (Game Ready or Unprepared) and add a note if needed.

  4. Click Confirm Upload to submit the valid files.

Only valid files will be submitted.

I’ve got a suggestion that could potentially save quite a lot of storage space on the website and make the graphics megapacks smaller to download.

I know you already use pngquant with up to 256 colours to optimise PNG images, but have you considered trying 128 colours instead? It could be worth testing to see how much more space could be saved without any noticeable drop in quality.

With hundreds of thousands of images across the Cut-Out Faces Megapack, Standard Logos Megapack and FC’12 Kitpacks, even a small reduction in file size could add up to several GB saved overall.

Also, it’s worth remembering that Football Manager doesn't display these images at their full resolution in-game. Most images are scaled down to fit the interface, so any small loss of detail from reducing the colour palette might not even be noticeable when playing.

Obviously, faces, logos and kits are all different, so 128 colours might work better for some than others. It would probably be worth testing a sample from each pack first and comparing the quality and file sizes before making any changes.

I'm not saying every image needs to be reduced to 128 colours, but it could be a good way to cut down the overall size of the packs and save some storage space if the results are good.

Just thought I’d share the idea. Keep up the great work with the logos packs!

It's a good suggestion mate, I'll test it out and see if there is any significant difference. I began using this several years ago to reduce the size of files and felt at the time 256 was the lowest I wanted to go. However, the difference in-game between FM26 and previous versions is huge and not in a good way as you mentioned. I'll test it out on FM27 and see if there is any major differences.
