The club have been informed the 28-year-old has passed away following a road traffic accident in Spain along with his brother, Andre. Apparently he was heading back to Liverpool via car/ferry based on his doctor advice as he had lung surgery and not allowed to travel by plane.

July 3Jul 3 I still can't fully comprehend this. He was such a brilliant player. I still remember vividly one my first Premier League games I watched in full was Wolves vs Leicester in 2019. Instant fan and was forever one of my favourite players. Rest in peace, Diogo Jota, and his brother Andre Silva. Your talent, passion, and joy for the game left a mark on all of us. Rest easy.
July 8Jul 8 Author Moderators According to Spanish Guard Police, they believe he was speeding over the limit and that what caused the tyre to blew up and led to his death. Such a shame. Makes me laugh that everyone up in arms because Ronaldo, didn't attend cos he's Portugal captain, I mean get a grip. If he turns up, no doubt media would be stalking Ronaldo, than Jota funeral itself.
