  1. As a Dutchman, this is how I saw the match vs Argentina, maybe I am biased, but nonetheless, here goes... I will begin by saying the referee was blatantly awful, in many of his decisions on BOTH sides, which (I believe) caused a lot of frustration on either side as he slowly lost his grip on the match, as well as both teams. He gave out yellow cards like candy for small offences but kept his cards in his pocket for the obvious handball of Messi, and the kick in the dugout of the Dutch. Yes, Argentina vs Holland is always a pretty heated match, but in my opinion it did not look like that in the beginning at all. The first half was respectful to each other, or at least, I seemed to think so. He seemed in favor of Messi, too, who felt to the ground all the time at the slightest touch. The penalty given, was in my eyes, a punishment too, way too harsh. Then the Dutch came back, and 10 min extra time was given, and the Dutch equalised in the dying seconds of the game. Deserved? No. Absolutely not. Was I happy? Off course! I think I woke my entire apartment block! All Argentina players surrounded the referee at the extra time given, a trend this World Cup, that much ET... And then the referee seemed to lose more control, and seemingly influenced by the Argentines, whistled in favour of them all through extra time. I cannot help to think Lahoz had a huge influence on the match, and how it went along... Messi is done for me though, lost all my respect as I have never seen him like this before. Tirades against Weghorst and Van Gaal were a disgrace for a player of his stature... My two cents... Ps: I was happy to see Ronaldo cry, byebye now!
  2. What the hell happened here?? Jesus Christ on a stick! I am shouting my lungs out in my house 🤣
  3. Sorry for the lack of updates, the end of November (Sinterklaas), and December (Christmas) are traditionally very very very busy and stressful months at work. I have not even started on my own Vitesse game yet! 😅 off course the World Cup also plays a role as I'd like to see as many matches as possible. Just so y'all know! 😘
  4. @Derekyou jinxed it 😡
  5. He will not accept. Instead of celebrating the win he went off the pitch immediately..
  6. It is not often though, a British player is impressing abroad 😬 How about Man Utd? Are they still interested?
  7. Bayern out of the equation? Most of the time Dortmund players move to Bayern. Anyway, City has Foden, I would think Liverpool or Real
  8. You mean the Netherlands... 🤣 Because of various reasons I dislike the Portuguese, but I think they're better without Ronaldo than with at this moment. 2 0!
  9. Indeed! All weak shots... If I believe the media, probably yes. I will admit Ronaldo has been a great player, but he has always acted like a big child, this is no difference. First a destroying interview with Morgan, disrupting the team's preparation on the World Cup, then claiming a goal when he clearly did not even touch the ball, then cussing and swearing when the 'great Ronaldo' is substituted... He is a has been, thinks he alone is Portugal, places himself above everyone else, a cry baby and the sooner he realises that, the better. An arrogant, selfish, narcistic asshole, and he has always been like this, but because of his very impressive play in every department, everyone just went along with his 'wishes'.. I hope he will be benched through all of the tournament
  10. Goodbye to Spain! Meanwhile, Ronaldo has been passed and sits on the bench tonight. Finally.
  11. What a footballer Mbappé is 😱
  12. Welcome my love! 😍❤️
  13. I wanted the Aussies to win yesterday but one brilliant moment from 'the master' himself, Lionel Messi, changed that Let's root for the underdogs! I don't rule out Japan either!
  14. I agree! Holland 2 0 up though 🥳
  15. Belgium out, Germany out, Uruguay out... This afternoon Oranje takes on USA. I am not confident or sure...
  16. Depay was left out because he is recovering from injury, he will start today. I think Van Gaal is experimenting a bit, can't blame him considering the opposition in this fairly easy group of teams... Noppert on goal though, has been by far the biggest surprise for me, but Van Gaal always has a plan and/or reasons..
  17. The Dutch haven't found their rhytm either yet, the game against Ecuador was dreadful, boring and painful to watch. Martinez had to go a long time ago though.. Kept him too long.
  18. Missed that game because of work... I did see Morocco beat the Belgians and the riots that followed in The Hague and Brussels..
  19. Time for a little update on this game! Schedule and results: We kept our unbeaten run, though we could and should have won more. Facing St. Albans two times in a row (Remarkable...?), we drew both games in stoppage time despite being the better team. Nonetheless, it is a decent run of games. Competition overview: Despite the unbeaten run we still find ourselves in 16th place. I hoped it would be a little higher. Still exceeding expectations though, as we play pretty decent in the FA Trophy! A few important loans came to an end and I am desperately searching for new defenders and a midfielder to keep the squad balanced...
  20. Thanks, my love 🥰
  21. When I do get a transfer budget, can I just always buy players then? And I do have Watford as parent club...
  22. Well, here we go! Nobody made us any offers, so I went holidaying and set it to 'Apply to any club'. There were a few better clubs (clubs higher in the Vanarama leagues) we sent our application to, but Hemel Hempstead was the first to offer a contract. Hemel Hempstead FC is a semi-professional club currently playing in the Vanarama National League South. Nicknamed the Tudors, not much else I can tell about this club though. We stepped in when the club was in 23rd place, and our goal is to avoid relegation. We've been given a 9-month contract to make this happen, because, well, we can't manage a non-playable league obviously... Now, I am new to lower league playing so I'm expecting this game to be quite difficult. Squad and formation: Chose a 4-3-3 formation, the players do have some pace, but quality overall is (as expected) not very good. I did manage to sign 3 free transfers, a new goalkeeper, defender and midfielder. No transfer budget, so just free transfers it is. Squad is better balanced now. Schedule and results: Fairly good start, with the biggest win being against 1st placed Ebbsfleet! Now on a 3 win streak, and hoping it to continue. League table: Slowly crawling out of the relegation zone... That is it for now, will continue playing soon!
  23. Jesus, what an upset, the Arabs beat Argentina!
  24. US played well in the first half, putting a lot of pressure on Wales' defenders, the second half however, it was more balanced in terms of play
  25. I am just going to say it: I try to watch as many matches as possible, for me it is about football. Qatar will probably end in 4th place, what an awful, amateuristic match they played yesterday. England made a good impression on me, though Iran isn't strong obviously... That penalty Iran was given, in my opinion, was a gift. Holland won their first but was not impressed at all, boy oh boy, what a bad match it was..
