the letter s is distorted and edges are jagged. i’ll keep that one on my list for future overhauls / redrawings.

there was a british fm, don't know if it was championship manager or another publisher/game, but what i remember was the fact that you could only buy british players for your squad, you could choose between scottish, irish (northern), english and welsh (super exotic!). i played that on my amiga, was in my teens then. of course, i reloaded whenever i lost and must have caused a glitch, because then i started winning all the games without even conceding a goal, at least by a four goal margin ... 😆😆👍🏿 good times. in the end i think either the game froze at one point or i forgot to save and the magic was gone! fast forward to fm 06 and i said this looks interesting. wanted to manage eintracht and hajduk and sign back jay jay okocha at all costs, started cursing the developers for their ignorance when he turned the offer down and then began tweaking the roster/database to get him. 😁 then logo collecting of croatian lower league clubs began taking up all my time, and i only got back when fm 17 was released, which looked a lot better, but was too heavy for my laptop and always crashed whwn i opted for the huge database, heh.

both are official, but the one without inscription is the main logo i'd say, apart from jerseys, they use it on match posters and club flags: source 1 source 2 with inscription on scoreboard: source it looks as if the version with inscription is more used in communication (newsletters and official documents): source a historic one with slightly different typeface and no circle: source a bit like hertha berlin and legia warszawa, you can choose what u like better.

@Derek, i was actually thinking more of using this as a place of presenting stuff individually and expressing thoughts on why a different logo than the one in the database would be a better choice, more leaning towards discussion (others are welcome to comment here, of course). have you downloaded the archive i uploaded? everything i posted here is included, plus lots more. you can then pick whatever you want to add to the megapacks.

here’s an instance where official sources can be misleading - the caf organized competitions. let’s have a look at the national team competitions (image sources are caf and the main sponsor total energies): these might look like the correct logos for the competitions where the decorative triangular elements are only present around the bottom. however, i believe that they are not, but are rather the result of a mixup of templates that are used for the respective tournament where the host country is added. see below for examples. the 2015 afcon had, thanks to the length of the host country’s name, only two triangles even on each side: if you look at the confederation logo and the club competitions logos, you’ll notice that the decorative elements are continuous: you can see what happened with the newly introduced women’s club competition: another error is the logo for the upcoming women’s afcon in morocco: this is actually the color for the futsal afcon … this is how the logo of the women’s afcon in morocco looks like: the correct generic logos for the competitions would therefore be as follows (versions without sponsors):
